The city consists of many stories: collective and individual narratives overlap and distort, coil around a constructed and lifeless past, plan the future. In the spaces in between slumber already utopian approaches and possibles answers.
For decades people followed these narratives. In underground publications, architect or photo magazines some of them are already written, documented and published. With these independent magazines dedicated to city life, we want to design new utopian narratives.
We copy, cut, collage. We build a possible future from the documented past and use the existing materials to question and reestablish consisting structures of cities.
The HEFT archive consists of over 100 magazines of different authors, that address the topic city from diverse angels. Together we will use the archive to form new narratives for the city of the future and print them on site as a special edition.
