The laboratory investigates “Filament Networks”, the connection between humans and other organisms. The association Chimera illustrates the relationship between biological life forms and fluid systems, to evaluate if there is a understanding and sensibility, for other species. The workshop “Casting Mycelium” enables the participants to experiment with mycelium, the filaments of mushrooms, which eats through substrate and hardens it. This organism is not only used in design and art, but also on decompsting petroleum and pesticides, as well as an alternative for packaging and isolation.
