Bone Factory brings concrete to the Academy and on our own bodies. The installation enables participants to get in contact with the worlds second most common material – concrete.

Whereas the body becomes the casing, concrete becomes the body. 

The relation between casing and fresh concrete is always determined by an exchange of information. With the bone factory we will experience it directly: We hold the liquid stone, till it holds us. The warmth of our bodies accelerates the hydration of concrete until the accused heat makes us sweat. The Fusion with the stone follows a radical cut:  the detachment from the meanwhile solidified material is combined with the rupture of concrete – the reconquest of mobility but also the surrender of the body-extension.
