Austrian composer, conductor, and author. Studied composition and conducting at the Hochschule Mozarteum and then musicology and philosophy at the University of Salzburg. During his studies he was musical director of the Elisabeth Theatre in Salzburg from 1980 to 1984, where he published his first theatre compositions. Between 1980 and 1989 he worked as composer and conductor in Paris and N.Y., and since 2002 he has been musical director, composer and author. Among other awards, he is the winner of the Silver Bear 1990 of the Berlin International Film Festival in the category Youth Film/Music.
