Fighting Theories – Desire Boxes

with Arno BöhlerSusanne Valerie Granzer, Savita Rani

-

The relation between thinking and desire is something that always moved philosophy. Enhanced in this relationship is something dark, mysteries - maybe even something abysmal. Do we desire when we think? Does thinking follow an appetite, that commands us to think, when we think? Or does the thinking think “without interest”, to use a quote from Kant. Objective, rational, without desire, ascetic? You get lost, confused as soon as you engage with the relation between thinking and desire. That is why we designed three desire boxes, in which three experts shed light on this relationship philosophical, feministic and artistic-tantric. Short statements invite the audience to stimulate their reflexion on lust and thought.
