Christoph Wonneberger is a lutheran priest. He organised the so-called “Monday Peace-prayers” in Leipzig in the Nikolaus church between 1986 and 1989. His initiative was the trigger for the Monday-demonstrations and the peaceful revolution in the Fall of 1989. As consequences of a serious stroke, ha has been in retirement since 1991. After a long period of recovery, he first get politically active in 2009. In 2014, he received the German State Prize as representative of the Leipzig Monday Demonstrations in memory of the peaceful revolution in the GDR. At the GLOBART Academy he will talk about the meaning of life and the strength that lies in Unity.
