Franz Thürauer
Composer, interpreter, and teacher. Franz Thürauer studied organ and violin at the Tiroler Landeskoservatorium, as well as church music and composition at the mdw – University of music and performing arts Vienna, amongst others under Kurt Schwertsik. He had teaching assignments at the mdw Vienna for aural training and solfège, taught music at the Melk Abbey grammar school, was the Regens Chori at Melk Abbey, and is a teacher for piano at the music school of St. Pölten. He wrote numerous commissioned works for festivals, such as the Bregenz Festival and the Pfingstkonzerte Melk, or ensembles and orchestras, such as the Vienna Chamber Orchestra.
