Environmental activist and since January 2019 Austrian Federal Minister for Climate Protection, Environment, Energy, Mobility, Innovation and Technology. The political scientist studied with a focus on international development at the University of Vienna and worked from 2008 to 2014 as founding director of the Green European Foundation in Brussels. As part of her work for the environmental protection organisation Global 2000, she was a leading campaigner against the Mochovce nuclear power plant, among other things.
