Austrian economist and professor at the department for social economy at the WU Vienna, where she also founded the institute for Ecological Economics in 2014. Prior to that she was a researcher and the University of Leeds and University of Sussex. She is the first person worldwide to receive a PhD in ecological economy. Her current research interest lies in ecological makro economy, sustainable labour, and socio-economic theory of trade.
